Aikido Shimbokukai Summer Seminar 2021, with Special Guest Instructor Terumasa Hino Sensei, Aikikai Hombu Dojo

Please join us July 11 for our annual Summer Seminar. This year the seminar will be offered in-person from two locations as well as virtually by Zoom. The instruction provided will be for both paired practice and solo practice, so no matter the situation everyone can train! The seminar will run from 10:30 am-6:30 pm Central Time.

There are a variety of options for participation-
- Participate live; in-person training at Boulder Aikikai or Indianapolis Aikikai. Proof of vaccination for Covid-19 will be required to participate in-person.
- Participate with your dojo mates from your dojo. For those who can gather and train together, please plan to attend the seminar from your dojo! Set up a computer, stream the event, and train!
- Participate on your own from your home, or any location of your choice. Can't gather at your dojo and train with others yet? That's OK! Instruction for solo participants as well as paired will be offered.

Please register using the PayPal button below. Registration for this full day event is US$65. All proceeds will be divided among the instructors, as our way of saying "thank you" for their time, energy, and instruction.

Special Guest Instructor: Terumasa Hino Sensei, 5 Dan, Aikikai Hombu Dojo
Terumasa Hino Sensei became a member of the Instructors’ Division of Aikikai Hombu Dojo in 2008 and hold the title of Shidoin. He teaches at Hombu Dojo as well as at universities, high schools, and other locations in the Tokyo area. Hino Sensei travels within Japan, as well as traveling overseas about three times a year, to teach classes and seminars.
We are happy to host him as Special Guest Instructor for this event!

Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan, 7 Dan, Boulder Aikikai, Colorado, USA
Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan began Aikido at Kokugakuin University Aikido Club, of which Mitsugi Saotome Shihan was the chief instructor. After graduation he trained regularly at Aikido World Headquarters and in Saotome Shihan’s Reimeijuku Dojo in Tokyo. He established Boulder Aikikai in 1980 for the study of the Japanese martial art of Aikido.The dojo is affiliated with the Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, through the Aikido Shimbokukai. Ikeda Shihan is well-known for his effective technique, and travels extensively around the world teaching. He is a member of the Grading Committee and Vice-President of Aikido Shimbokukai.

​Lisa Tomoleoni Shihan, 6 Dan, Aikido Shimbokukai Director
Lisa Tomoleoni Shihan holds the rank of Roku Dan (6th dan), received from Moriteru Ueshiba, Aikido Doshu. She spent over 14 years in Japan training at the Aikido World Headquarters and teaching Aikido professionally at a dojo in Tokyo. Tomoleoni Shihan is Director of Aikido Shimbokukai, an organization Officially Recognized by the Aikikai Foundation and Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. She also has yudansha ranking in Judo and Iaido and is a coauthor of the book "Along the Way", a collection of writings about training.

Chris Diacopoulos Sensei, 4 Dan, Open Aikido Association, England
​Chris Diacopoulos Sensei has been practicing Aikido since 1984. He has trained in both Ki Aikido and Traditional Aikido and has graded in both.
In 1990 he formed the Open Aikido Association where he is the Chief Instructor, and head of the dojo. In 1994 he started training with Kobayashi Aikido and formally joined from 2000 to 2015. In 2015 he and his dojo became members of Aikido Shimbokukai.
